Lahore: Punjab Police’s campaign to deport illegally residing foreign nationals is continuing rapidly across the province. As part of this ongoing operation, the number of illegal residents evacuated from Lahore and other regions of Punjab has reached 8,478. Additionally, over 9,304 illegal foreign nationals have been shifted to holding centers.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, 806 illegal residents are currently present at holding points. There are 5 holding centers in Lahore and a total of 46 across the province.
IG Punjab said that Pakistan, like other countries, is implementing a deportation policy in accordance with international laws. He mentioned that complete data is available for nearly 89,000 illegal residents, including ACC holders. IG Punjab further added that all illegally residing foreign nationals had been informed in advance to leave the country voluntarily.
The federal government, intelligence agencies, Special Branch, and CTD are monitoring the deportation campaign of illegal residents. Regardless of nationality, all illegally residing foreigners in Pakistan must return to their countries. Security has been placed on high alert during the deportation process, and human rights are being fully observed throughout the operation. Dr. Usman Anwar directed the CCPO Lahore, RPOs, and DPOs to accelerate the process of deporting illegally residing foreign nationals.
